Getting started
From sign-up to your first alert in a few minutes, plus how to move quickly when one arrives.
1. Create your account
Go to Log in and continue with Discord or an email address. Discord is the quickest way to get alerts as direct messages. If you use email, check your inbox for the verification message.
2. Choose where you want to work
Open My Settings and enter:
- Your ZIP code — the center of your search.
- How far you'll travel — a wider distance means more alerts and more chances. Rural areas usually need a larger distance than cities.
- Minimum pay (optional) — only use this once you're getting alerts you don't want, because a high minimum can hide real openings.
Not sure what's hiring near you? The Find Jobs page shows what is open around a ZIP code right now, and Warehouses lists the locations we watch and which ones have jobs open.
3. Pick how alerts reach you
- Discord DM. Keep direct messages from server members turned on for the server the bot is in, otherwise Discord will block them.
- Phone push. Press Enable push in My Settings and allow notifications when your browser asks. On a phone, installing DropJobs to your home screen (the install card in My Settings) makes push far more reliable.
Use both if you can. Then turn Alerts on and press Save settings.
4. Get ready before the alert arrives
Openings can fill in minutes, so the work that matters happens before the alert:
- Create and verify your account on the employer's hiring site now, and stay signed in on your phone.
- Fill in the profile details the employer asks for so you aren't typing them under pressure.
- Turn on lock-screen notifications for DropJobs and make sure Do Not Disturb won't hide them.
5. When an alert arrives
- Tap the link in the alert. It opens the employer's own application page.
- Pick a shift and complete the application right away. Don't stop to compare options, since the opening may disappear.
- If the job is already gone, don't worry: more drop through the day. Check the Live Stats page for when your area tends to be busy.
6. Tune it over time
- Too many alerts? Narrow your distance or set a minimum pay.
- Missing jobs you hear about elsewhere? Widen your distance, or on Bolt and Storm watch additional locations.
- Need a break? Use Pause all alerts and turn them back on any time.
- Want to be earlier? Compare plans on the Plans page. Every plan watches the same warehouses; paid plans just hear about jobs sooner.
Check what is near you
Type your ZIP to see how many warehouses we watch around it, and how many have jobs open right now.
Optional: the Chrome helper
DropJobs Helper is a desktop Chrome extension that can open a new alert's job page for you the moment it arrives. It also includes options that refresh or click through an employer's site automatically. Those options are off by default, and automated clicking or frequent refreshing may be against an employer's website terms and could put your account there at risk. Use it only on your own account, and only if you accept that risk.
